Team South Africa wins at NASA space engineering competition

Several South African high school learners selected to participate in the International Space Settlement Design Competition had prominent roles in the winning team, with one receiving individual recognition.

The international finals for the world’s longest-running space engineering competition were held at NASA’s Kennedy Space Centre and the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida from 30 July to 2 August.

“The talent was never missing in South Africa. The opportunity was,”

Yes.

“Every company in this country that says it cannot find skilled people should look very carefully at what these seven just did.”

No, skilled blek people... because they're forced to hire skins with skills that don't exist in enough numbers.
Let's call it what it is and stop ignoring the giant gorilla in the room.

Well done to the team.
Seeing Saffas kick the Americans around on their own turf is awesome.

Well done to them.

I have taught blek kids... I taught them coding and robotics for 2 years. They drop out, they get disinterested, and they are being indoctrinated- let's call a spade a spade, they're being taught by I presume their parents and families that they are owed everything and don't need to study hard stuff, the govt will provide.

Damn straight. The Yanks always think they're top dog... they're not!

Hmmm... no chance they were picked as winners 'cos that's the right woke thing to do in 'Murica?

Solved

South African learners held prominent roles in the winning company. Qaylah Omar was one of the company‘s chosen presenters.

So, just played a part in the much wider winning team.
