The 'Massive' Gauteng Weather and Storm Warning Thread! The Sequel

Not the coldest night according to my outdoor temp sensor. that was sometime in July where it was -1c.

But coldest day for sure. 3c currently.

I hope the rain stays for tonight then it’ll definitely be cold enough to snow in Joburg but forecasts show it’s gone by early evening.

Maybe it's a psychological thing where we think it's colder than it is because of what the temperature is. But to me it doesn't feel as cold as it should for 4 degrees, I've felt colder. Maybe the lack of wind chill...

It takes time for the cold to seep into some homes. I'm on the ground floor so even with the windows slightly open and no heater/aircon it's still fairly ok. I only feel the real chill if stepping outside.

August always has another cold spell or two.

Politio-scientism driven fear of climate disaster at play here. Unpolarised science says it's just changes, sometimes they're more severe for a few years.

Norwood / Houghton strip got a bit of light rain last night and this morning, mostly only been cold. Sun has just come out.

Weird hey. I felt my fingers frozen and bedding cold when I was in limpopo two weeks ago. This 5 which apparently feels like 1 feels warmer than then where it was around 10.

But cloudy days do tend not to feel that cold.

But it is really cold today. I just opened up bathroom window tiny bit to peek out and man, wind is blowing and quite chilly. Thankfully, house is well insulated so heater not needed during day yet.
