The official Ubiquiti Devices Q&A Thread

300 is the UI limit for smart queues so seems very coincidental that is where you are being limited

smart queues is definitely off?
Smart queues is definitely off - the latest update seems to have resolved the issue. The ingress limitation is no longer enabled.

Code:
root@UCG-Ultra:~# tc qdisc show dev ppp0
qdisc fq_codel 0: root refcnt 2 limit 10240p flows 1024 quantum 1514 target 5ms interval 100ms memory_limit 4Mb ecn drop_batch 64
root@UCG-Ultra:~#

It has - mine was set to 1392 actually. Changing it to that higher value didn't seem to cause issues (for now)
Sometimes it does for international traffic but local is fine. Weird indeed. Then again once I had an interface gain an dhcp lease over openserves uplink and there was some portscanning happening - now that was weird and intriguing.

Very weird thing happened to me, for some reason sometime in the past few days my network stopped being able to route to ipv6 addresses. Restarted my UCG Fiber and it's working fine again.

WTH?

Is it possible that the dynamic prefix expired and changed and the router didn't pick up the new one?

Starting this thread as search doesn't bring something like this up.

A place to ask and answer Ubiquiti related questions for newbies and experts alike.

If there is a already a thread, please point it out
Good idea starting this thread, it is useful to have a central place for Ubiquiti questions instead of scattering them across different boards.

And since I started this thread all the way back, I need to finally retire the USG gracefully.

What are the best options for a replacement gateway? I am thinking a cloud ultra will be a good option.

Max ISP speed I will need is 500Mbps which I will only consider in the next few years. Current is 100Mbps and I will move to 200 soon hence the need to upgrade the USG as I need the IPS etc to work at line speed.

2.5 Gbps ports for the NAS with the cloud ultra will be useful too.

I just don't know how I can get backup wan support over 5G? What solutions are available?

The best drop in replacement will probably be the UXG-MAX which offers two WAN ports.

You can also look at the UXG-Fibre which offers a lot of additional ports.
- 1x 10 Gigabit SFP+ WAN Port
- 1x 10 Gigabit SFP+ LAN Port
- 1x 10 Gigabit Ethernet RJ-45 WAN Port
- 3x 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet RJ-45 LAN Ports
- 1x 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet RJ-45 LAN PoE Port

I know you can get a 4g unifi device as a backup Wan, don't know if they've gone to 5g yet.

I retired my usg for a ucg ultra.

UCG Ultra is a decent upgrade path - that's what i and one of my other friends did. Not having to worry about managing the network app externally is a bonus - unlike the UXG line. It will handle up to gigabit with little issue.

The 2.5Gbps port is misadvertised though - the whole device only has a gigabit backplane so in reality no device can utilise the 2.5Gbps. If that is important to you look at the UCG Max or Fiber. Backup over 5G shouldnt be a problem - you could go the Unifi route or just get a 5G router and mark that as WAN2 backup - my mate does this with an MTN 5G solution

Thanks chaps. Need to do a bit more reading. Like the 5G backup option as I need it it connect to home for home assistant , etc in case fibre wan drops.

Will look to buy from Europe as I am often there and perhaps could get cheaper.
