Police investigate deaths of two Gauteng teenagers in Sabie

So they should have used killer instead to make you happy. Hardly makes an iota of difference.
Press agencies have a duty not to brand people as murderers, at least before an official investigation is complete. Will it matter in this case, who knows, but what happens if the post mortem was wrong or they were both murdered by someone else? What it the point of rushing the a conclusion and branding people before all the facts are in. If its get decided that he, was in fact a murderer then by all means call him that, just not sure what you think is gained by a media house labelling him that so before anything official has been release.

Personally I can't sympathize with killers when the evidence is pretty clear on who committed the deed.
You really are all over the place, where ever did I say I sympathised with him? My comment was about journalistic integrity and making statements of fact before they have been confirmed,.

And how the hell do you know what the evidence is, have you seen any of it first hand? Do you have some kind of inside track on the investigation that the rest of us don't have?

Only in terms of sentence as I mentioned. It makes zero difference to the victim and victims family.
In this case it genuinely doesn't matter unfortunately. Unless some extraordinary evidence comes to light that gives another explanation, they know the person who did the deed is dead. Likely because he realised what a horrible thing he did.

No trial or court case or the facts emerging from it can ever make that much of a difference for the family. Justice is for society such that you don't have murderers or criminally negligent people walking around doing their thing (not that that happens much in ZA- parole after 5 years for good behaviour).

Press agencies have stopped being neutral for a very long time. The language they use depends how much they like the accused or victim. See coverage of the israel/Palestine conflict for example.

They could have used suspected murderer or just suspect instead but would still have had the same effect.

Once the accused name was out there was no way it would not have been sensationalized.

Or maybe they just put no effort in finding a proper foto.
It is a proper photo though. Probably only a few months old which would make it one the most up to date photos of him there is.

You almost make it sound like he left St Stithians years ago...

Do you realize that the press may get sued?
As far as I know the police have not named him as the suspect. So you can think whatever you want and come to whatever conclusions you want. Smart people will not say anything in that line because they know the consequences.
Its the same with all these teen rapist/murderers. The press will not name them even if most people know who they are.

So does anyone, anyone at all know what the heck is going on here?
It's a massive **** up. How it got to this stage is all social medias doing. Anything and everything is getting posted......and never control, deleted comments etc.
Free for all. Facebook and it's Meta mates need to be sued for everything they've got because they are a pile of ****.

**** Zuckerberg. He created these monsters. Sue him in sy moer 🤬🤬🤬🤬

All I can think of when this thread pops up is how a 17 year olds life got snuffed out by the darkness in this world. Maybe I should just unsubscribe.

Under age defendants can't be named cause it is criminally illegal hence why they aren't named.

Calling someone a murderer before he has been convicted is a civil matter and would first need to be proven in court whether it damaged his reputation. Waterkloof four were called murderers often by the press before being convicted so its not new.
