What is driving the current “anti alcohol” rhetoric online

A 100 years ago?? You do know what was happening 100 years ago? Though alcohol was a driving force.

If you want to believe that but I do suggest specsavers - something is wrong there and not alinged as you are making it out to be…

Look properly and closer.
Think you need those glasses or less alcohol

It's an original picture from 1927. It's been around forever.

You mean the 2 guns with one behind the other?

That's just the guy behind the first guy holding the same model of gun slightly off the angle of the front one mate.

Jesus is this where we've come to as a species now? We can't tell AI from the real? Two guns in a line confuses us?

I mean jeepers. Look at that gun on the bottom right... it has like 4 butts... or ... you know... it's just a bunch of guns in a line and perspective does funny things.

Plus it's a 99 year old photo that's been used for 99 years :).

one other thing that has not been mentioned:

Goes for all GLP1 drugs apparently...

Ya no hey, this is definately being driven by people being more informed and taking better health decisions….. 😂

- Sugary Energy drinks sales up
- Vaping showing continued strong growth
- Marijuana use skyrocketing

But at least they aren’t drinking beer anymore

Yeah, see-saw effect 'cos people in this society will always want an escape / pressure valve.

Never seen anyone after having to many sodas or vaping driving into a family and wiping them out. Or beating someone up.
Those effect the user only and less so than alcohol, while alcohol effects way more people and has killed far more people.
Not sure on smoking weed and driving as generally the last thing I've ever wanted to do was drive after that. Plus it's also less harmful to the user than alcohol.

And those have far less effects on the rest of society vs alcohol. Not heard of a car accident after someone has had a 6 pack of coke. Plus generally people don't drink a 6 pack or more at a party.
When I'm out it's maybe 2 glasses of pepsi max, sparkling water or if the host doesn't mind me making a coffee. At that time the people around me have had numerous mixers, beers and whatever else is floating around.

Not really, it puts a huge burden on our healthcare system, and having a family member with diabetes is no fun.

Well, some used to take Mandrax with their dope and that made a few of them mad things. And then there's some weird acid trips apparently. But in large part, alcohol is known for this. Too many abusive fathers etc.

(Also Tic changed people into nutters if I remember correctly, but I'm not the one to have these details.)

But at least they aren’t drinking beer anymore [/s]

I would think most peeps in this thread are social drinkers and will remain so. Perhaps what's bothering you is a loss in sales etc.

Thing is, the planet has been changing, somewhat on its head now... but happening in many aspects.
