Eskom's 2026 electricity generation heading for same level as in 1996

An analysis by MyBroadband shows that Eskom’s electricity production in 2026 is on track to drop to levels last recorded before 1996.

The power utility recently announced a major milestone in improving the performance of its coal fleet, reaching an energy availability factor (EAF) of 80.24%, the highest since 20 September 2017.

In real ethical and honest worlds a Lollypop factory can make 3mil lollypops but if they only sell 1mil either they go bang or their price skyrockets and becomes insane and they eventually go bang.

In 1996, it generated 189,187GWh
Fyi 1997 which would be Apr 96 to Mar 97 it generated 187 458 and FYI 1996 it was 184 500. Did you combine the Jan through to Apr and remove that from 1997?
Where does the 189 come into it?

If you look at 2010 and 2011 it was way over 237 sent out.
So as you can see it really can fluctuate over the years.
