Since I turned 40 it seriously ramped up, as if on cue.
It got so bad I installed TrueCaller out of desperation.

1) Ensure your Text Message app is set to default to the Google one, not your built in Samsung or otherwise. This has a very good shared Spam number repository

2) Same as above, ensure you are using the Google Phone app, not the defaulted Samsung or otherwise. Be sure to add Spam numbers from calls you receive that was not automatically filtered

3) If and when you receive a person on a spam call, politely thank them for their time, and request formally that your number be removed from their lists. They are legally required to comply.

Over time, you'll end up with next to none of these ridiculous "marketing" ploys arriving on your phone.

Honestly, I'd like to meet the people who actually buy anything from this form of Marketing. Cold Calling as a job is a miserable experience, but clearly it works or it wouldn't still be in existence!
I'll try this and report if it works, thanks

Oops, thought it said spam threads and selected several times a day. Feels like you already asked this as well.

Although it's pretty much same same and goes through seasons. Google does a okay-ish job at blocking a majority of them.

Not daily, but at least a few times a week.

Primarily all from ABSA trying to upsell me on a credit card I don't use anymore. I've probably hung up on them about 100 times yet they keep trying. Maybe the call centre has some kind of bounty for the person that eventually gets me to respond to them.
Ask them to remove you from product updates, offers, promotions and 3rd party marketing. Should stop them, eventually.

Ever since uninstalling True Caller, my spam calls have dropped significantly. They do ramp up at month end and beginning of each month.

Daily, if it wasn't for spam my phone would barely ring at all

well spam and my regular encrypted briefings from the Kremlin via the doomsday radio ... apparently

It worked in the past. Despite updating my details every other year with them, I now receive numerous spam calls.
I tried to register, and the site informed me that I am already. Must have forgotten that I registered in the past.

So I tried logging in and updated my preferences, and it should be valid for 3 years again.

Best thing to do is answer the phone, but don't say anything. Wait until you hear something. If not the call normally ends after 15 seconds and then you just block it.

on my normal phone? a few per month, nationaloptout does indeed work
on my work-phone that I inherited, several per day, dude signed up to all the dodgiest $h1t imaginable.
TV license, Loans, call girls, gambling, massage places, insurance, Gym's and life insurance.

mostly ignore it, but every so often make the mistake of answering a AI call centre robocall, that then goes nuts
calling me 10 times a day with different numbers so you cant block it.

Several times a day, starting easily as early as before 07:00 am and up to 19:00. The last couple of days it's an even split between Telkom sales / MTN / rando insurance, they almost always call at specific times, but then oddly they'll call after I've been on Whatsapp and or Instagram or (in the case of MTN) after I've or during a call with someone.

Monday to Friday at least 3 a day. Sometimes even Saturdays! I use truecaller but it doesnt always block the call. Fxxking annoying!
