Bolt and Uber having a tough time in SA — AA CEO

E-hailing companies like Uber and Bolt are struggling in South Africa because the ecosystem is constrained by tight profit margins and intense competition.

This is according to the Automobile Association (AA) CEO, Bobby Ramagwede, who cited Uber and Bolt's struggles as an example of why the Gautrain's planned e-hailing platform would likely fail.

It couldn't be because they are a bunch of THUGS disguised as Drivers.

I used to be a regular UBER user but no longer feel safe using their services. Too many cases of hailing a ride and then the driver insisting on extra payment at the end above of what the app has debited, as this is to cover extra petrol. It seems the vetting of the drivers is no longer as it used to be and thugs are now in charge.
