Bad news about online licence disc renewals in South Africa

South African motorists have fewer online licence disc renewal services available to them than in previous years.

It costs me more than R100 to leave the house and go stand in a queue. So for me it's cheaper to pay someone else to do it.

Please give me the schematics for your teleportation device... it takes me more than 5 minutes to GET to the closest post office... getting out of the house, opening the garage, getting the car out, open gate, drive out, close gate, navigate one bajillionty potholes.

It's far more cost and time effective to have the license disk arrive at my door.

Cape Towns drive through one work very well for me last time. Garage to garage in 30 odd minutes.

The post office is a 5 minute walk from home or a ~100m detour from the estate gate if I'm going somewhere anyway... (and if I'm going to the checkers it is even less extra time)

In my area in CT we still get post delivered (once a week). I got my licence from the CoCT by post last time. It takes a while, but minimal effort.

Used to do that. Now suddenly both our new vehicles are missing of eNatis, can't get a hold of them to understand why and local post offices are always offline. (Local being 15km away now) Do not use ENATS, borderline incompetent.

Really? When I last used a PO around covid time , it was just show your notice and it was printed.
