Takealot increases minimum order size for free delivery and changes checkout defaults

Takealot is full of ****, too much fake/counterfeit stuff too

Sometimes i rather visit a physical store than deal with Takealot
And bump into adults in superhero t-shirts and rub shoulders with the unwashed masses?! lol.

Definitely not Big Z over here. XD.

For me it depends on the thing. Many stores are stocking temu things these days too.

Interesting.

Their subscription service must be doing well for them then. Maybe the Mr. D stuff is really appealing to a large portion of their users.

Amazon is cool... but it's touch and go with 3rd party sellers. If you need to return to a 3rd party seller it's on you to get the thing couriered/shipped back to them yourself. Where with takealot, no matter the issue they come FETCH the thing the same way they dropped it off.

For me, for NOW, I will mostly still stick to Takealot where it makes sense.
I never had an issue with that, Amazon themselves organized Courier Guy to collect the parcel by me for return to the seller. after a month I got an email from Amazon asking if I want instore credit or a refund and that they will be taking action against the seller.

I got a full refund an hour later and from what I can tell said seller has been banned.

For direct amazon stuff they do.
For third party a return is on you.
When you click refund on some of them the only option you get is "here print this shipping label and get it back to the seller". You can claim back the shipping costs but not the time (or logistics) it takes to get that to happen.

I recently had this happen, I ordered something off of Amazon.
It arrived.
Wrong.
Tried chatting to the seller and they were like "as per Amazon third party seller rules go log the return and send it back".
So I told them CPA says YOU must sort it out, cannot place the burden on the customer when you made a mistake.
They eventually just refunded me without coming to fetch the item.

Had this happen with a Samsung phone that failed after a few months. No option to return on their website (you must send it to the supplier). I then chatted to support and they arranged for collection. So what you see on the website isn't necessarily correct re returns.

They also went from having deliveries for regular users being 1 -3 days (in my experience) to suddenly a week or more the moment Takealot More came out. Literally inflating the time waited for deliveries just to try force customers to pay their stupid subscription.

Amazons delivery is soo much faster and consistent, it just feels much more professional.
Also there so many Pudo lockers to collect orders from vs just Takealot collection points.

I chatted to amakak support... they told me "you must send it back", I told them that's ridiculous because pretty much all other online retailers sort the issue out without expecting the customer to do it.

I chatted to the seller directly also. They also said "send it back to us and you can claim the shipping cost back". I told them "tsek ZA CPA says it's your problem, I will report you #karenvibes" and they refunded... and the thing is still lying here. lol
