To a lesser extent that the dot-com crash, but the revenue correction is coming.

From a personal experience perspective, very useful tools to increase productivity but poorly implemented in businesses where everyone gets a claude license to churn out bs.

From a tech point of view, we're way off where we're told we are, and probably decades away from proper general AI. Nice tools to play around with and the odd increase in productivity, though not sure it's worth the token spend.

From a financial point of view, a short term bubble.

I find it worth it for the times i use it at work and also for home projects. Life will be fine without it, but it certainly lets me do things I wouldn't otherwise be able to do myself (in a reasonable amount of time).

Time I think is the big factor. For me it kills a LOT of manual typing etc in code and eases when working with obscure frameworks and syntax. Still apply the same old nogan to problems and issues, its just now genuinely against a problem vs getting bogged in typing/syntax etc.

I find its made a lot of people downright lazy. The fact some people refuse to type a basic email and its so obvious they using AI for everything.

My work is forcing it on us and some things have been helpful but in most cases i have found its making the job to the point any low to no skilled person could do it and i feel like it will reach a point where they will start getting rid of individuals to pay other people less to sit and use AI to do the job whole day.

I think the valuations of the companies is a bit high, but the value is there. Especially with the decrease in cost we are seeing.

ChatGPT Luna for example is the cheapest model OpenAI produces. With a normal $20 account, you basically have unlimited use with it. 4.5 sonnet was released at end of September 2025.

Running the tasks for 4.5 cost $1000. Running them on luna medium and getting the same score cost $21.




For context, I use a lot of AI.
Due to a billing change at work, I temporarily have 4 ChatGPT Plus accounts I have wired behind a proxy on my machine. Will go down to 3 next month. And I have a grok sub active at the moment for some other stuff.

So yeah, I think the monetary investments are going to be worth it in the long term.

I am too old for this. Did dabble a bit because company wants us to and it could create decent apps but personally, I found the code very obscure. I suppose if one wants an app that will be forever maintained by AI, then it is fine really. I just don't have stomach for it.

this, while I do see its value and playing a bit around with it is kind of cool what its capable of, transform a passport photo of me to Chinese / Black / Female is truly amazing

I just honestly think its reached a point where people dont need to think and engage their brains a tiny bit,

Ai knows everything and before long we get to something like this idiocracy
and maybe that's why its come about now, if were all too dumb and stupid and easily misled by nonsense like flyovers and wars we don't understand,

the elites can keep us distracted and do truly horrific things behind the scenes without anybody noticing and able to raise the alarm.
