Unfortunately I forgot to save the radar snapshot, but the stroms were very strong, just short of being hail bearing.

It was the cluster to the south east of the current image

Well, I refuse to drive on the R24 (Albertina Sislulu Highway) when it's wet because that road is a deathtrap on a good day.

So I took the R21 -> N12 -> N3 (N) -> N1(S) -> William Nicol to my neck of the woods

The storm absolutely drilled me on the R21 and N12

I'm sure the Vox forecast covers this, but the center of the COL quite far north, over the dry Kalahari, and there is no rain in the center. A large band of moisture is being drawn in clickwise from the tropics. Most cutoff lows are further south, and draw in moisture from the warm Agulhas current. This system still has two days to evolve, before it exits via the SE coast.
