And it wouldn't explode, it would trip, and then the technicians would be dispatched to switch the network back on, or rebalance it based on new usage patterns.

and what if everyone wanted to use V2G and sell 7kW to the grid in the evening.Shouldn't really overload the grid in the way you seem to imagine it would.
Even at the full 7kw draw, its only around 50% of the main house breakers capacity, which would be below the supply breakers capacity, and thus should be below the areas main feed breakers, etc etc. There is a level of "under provision" but it shouldn't be that much.
