Pool cleaners - which are good and which should I stay away from?

Ok so this is a new development now

Everyday I have to untangle the damn thing.

Any idea what's causing it?

Gearbox sticking or failure perhaps?

Observe the cleaner

Is both tracks running forward or only one

If the gearbox on one side packs up it causes the machine to run in a small circle in one direction most of the time and twist up the pipe

Yes at times it should turn but if no straightline running happening

Check gearbox

If ko patience can also takenit out of the pool

And spin one of the flaps at the bottom in the correct direction
If uncertain open top lid and check direction is cotrect


Then you should see the tracks change directions

If it does not run in bith directions trouble free, it may be the gearbox

Sometimes a faulty wheel bearing causes it to struggle mimicking a gearbox problem

Once you have removed the track to be able to remove the gearbox

Check that the wheels spin freely

Often the wheel bearing takes out the gearbox too
