You need to take a lot of factors into consideration, one size doesn't fit all. Energy consumption will heavily depend on how hard the unit needs to work and that depends on things like the temperature differential between outside and inside, your target temperature, the size of the space, how well the inside space is insulated, etc.

I've been heating my small office with a 9000BTU unit this winter, on the coldest of days I would use between 2 - 3kWh max for the day, not a full 12 hours more like 8-9.

I used around 40kWh for the entire month of July for heating in the office. Yet to get full energy tracking data for a full summer.
