Change the router IP address and DHCP range

The best you can do with a Rain router is to change its address.

From personal experience: if it is no longer on your property your struggles are over.

@rain_mobile I have sent you a PM, I need to use my router in an environment where I need to be able to assign the DHCP and IP address of the101. It is inherently dumb that such a simple router setting is locked out from users.

Or has anybody managed to work around the new firmware to get into the developer mode?

Hi WickedP3NGU1N

Please keep an eye on your PM's we will assist you further from there.

Not much of an assist. Changing DHCP and LAN IP is beyond your scope?
It is a basic end user feature, and your rainOne causes havoc with networks that dont subscribe to 192.168.0.x and boy oh boy is the Bridge function on your router NOT working so well.

I had to fiddle with a few extra things on my Microtik just to make sure it provides internet, does NOT force its own DHCP and does not crap out the network.

Come on Rain, do better. Not all your end users are basic users.

i've run into the same issue at one of our sites, the got a rain router, and the dhcp setup just tanked everything , but , plan b incoming :)

but it really is a joke, you can change all manner of firewall settings, but not the basics like the ip address or dhcp config

You can add me to the list of disgruntled users... Need to change the routers IP Address/DHCP settings.

Ridiculous that such a mundane feature would be locked by default.

hey all, are there any updates on this? I also am stuck struggling with my DHCP and IP assignments with my rain router... I really need this to be sorted otherwise Im leaving RAIN, its bad that they block you from sorting out your own Home network setup, anyone that can assist, please inbox me, I would be forever grateful.

I stumbled across something I thought was interesting. I'm not sure if Rain are selling off the 101s that get returned when contracts are cancelled or if it's the router manufacturer who is selling them off directly. But somehow they are making their way onto the market in the Philippines and there seems to be an active community unlocking, modding and running custom firmwares.

You'll need to translate pages but for anyone interested, have a look here: https://phcorner.org/search/16402788/?q=rain+101&o=relevance

I'm not with Rain anymore and I don't recommend anyone mess with a device that doesn't belong to them so please don't dm, I can't help you. k thx bye.
