The Tools and other D.I.Y bargains thread

Seems only the model with a metal gearbox gets it but this is a very nice drill for the money and it comes with a Jacob chuck which solves the Ingco's achillies heel which is it’s rubbish chuck that slips easily

I bit the bullet and got this :

What problems are you having with your batteries?

I've only killed one Ingco battery which considering what it had been through was not unexpected. It was a 4Ah which was absolutely hammered on a SDS drill on a building site for a few years and then I started using it with the cordless heat gun which is extremely high current draw and chows batteries, I wasn't surprised it gave up after all that.

I opened the battery up and one cell had died(it seems the pack become unbalanced and it eventually got so bad that one cell reversed polarity), the rest of the cells were still fine and I even used 3 of them to rebuild an ancient Bosch 12v battery that had reached the end of it’s life and that battery has been happily working for the last year or so. Also a 4Ah incgo battery can often be had for under R400 so replacing batteries isn't the considerable expense it can be on more expensive brands.

Nice one @DTBA, please lets us know what that drill is like especially the chuck, it'll be a Chinese made Jacob's chuck but it should still be decent. Just keep in mind your full name is showing in those screenshots
Will post pictures when I get it. Need to use it on the farm a bit to see how it does

Anyone got a total/incgo stick vacuum? not the standard handheld, the actual stick? any good to replace sweeping?

Going by the reviews it looks excellent, it is quite pricey though, relative to other Ingco cordless Tools.
I have their smaller handheld cordless vacuum which is also very good

I saw a fair number of bad reviews thus checking here, a lot of people say the suction is terrible or the clips and plastics are bad and break quickly.

I am tempted to try it for R1200 since it will work with my battery eco-system, but yeah it might be pissing R1200 into the wind that could be spent on a more premium cleaner.

Where did you see bad reviews, I recall seeing unanimously positive reviews on Takealot and Amazon?
I have seen one in person but not used one, it seems like the regular decent Ingco build quality

These stick vacuums with the actual motor on top, are terrible if it ain't a Dyson or Shark.
I've had a few of these type of stick vacuums, they suck at sucking.

That used to be the case but now there's lots of competition in the market these days with the stick vacuums, plenty good options out there. Those Dyson work great when they are actually working...

Yes I have one. It replaces light sweeping no problem on tiles and hard surfaces. My domestic uses it daily. The flexible hose between the head and main pipe broke and I duct taped it together.
A 2ah battery only lasts about 15min.

If you have a battery and charger already, I think its a good buy. If you are new to the eco system, I think the vacuum without battery and charger is steep considering once you buy a battery and charger, you probably spent close to R2k.

I had a black and decker before this and it was definitely stronger.

So my tldr:
Get the vacuum if you already have a bat/charger and you just need to vacuum hard floors.

Look elsewhere if you arent invested in the ecosystem or you need to vacuum carpets, and other softer materials

Do you also have the smaller Ingco cordless vacuum to compare its suction power to?
The smaller ones suction power is great, I can't fault that aspect of it.
