Extra R10,000 to R100,000 payment for Eskom customers who want solar power

Government, munis and SOEs just mafia state now. Pay us or we take you to court/jail/fine. We've moved from paying for a service to paying a "tax" to allow you to live there.

Never forget, these are the guys who want to f**k you.

I recognize that photo, that is Tshwane Watloo sub happened this Thuesday but they are all the same in reality, no maintenance and expect equipment will just work forever and can just keep adding load.

Fixed your post to refect reality.

PS: that other photos can just as well have been from njala.

South Africans who are customers of Eskum who want to enjoy rooftop solar will have to pay a hidden three-month deposit of between R10,000 to R100,000 depending on their residential status

So this is another sliding scale like SARS to increase costs and taxes on your affordability? Based on affordability risks pushing them off the grid completely, does it not? Lekker stupid, ne :)

Or could be how large your supply and how many phases etc.

What part of grid tied is confusing you?
I'm not confused about grid tied. Grid tied is when you feed back into the grid, but people think just having your inverter connected to DB board equals grid tied. Have you registered your Eskom Direct PV system?

100% that's all this is, and we all knows this
Yet, "civil society" debates this as if there's more to it.

Makes me want to punch s**t.

OUTA’s view is that residents and businesses who own solar systems under 100kW should not be required to register with Eskom at all.
Nobody is required by law to register with Eskom, a muni or any other non-regulatory body unless you feed back. The 100kW is for NERSA registration and is merely a formality.

and "grid tie" is irrelevant to this eskom registration bs. muni by-laws are a law unto themselves though. Where are you outa?
