For those considering Wirulink as an option for Business Fiber - Beware of this hidden clause !

Under the section dealing with termination Suspension or Terminations of Service (P7 ) there is no mention of Auto Renewal

Then on P 11 you find this hidden gem !

C) APPLICABLE TO LEGAL ENTITIES (ONLY)
Term Conditions (applicable to Term Agreements only)

  1. The Customer may upgrade the services by giving a minimum of 1 (one) calendar written notice to WIRUlink, unless otherwise specified. This Service Contract will automatically be renewed for a further term as per the initial period, unless the Customer notifies WIRUlink in writing, not less than 3 (three) calendar months before the expiry date, of its intention to terminate the Service Contract.

Net result is that if you don't terminate within 3 months of the expiry date THEY AUTOMATICALLY RENEW FOR 24 MONTHS !!!

This is straight out of the 1980's world where you slip something in in the small print - I see it doesn't apply to induvidials as I am sure it is a violation of consumer law - but I guess for businesses they still feel they can get away with it

Yes they caught me - and I will be paying 9 months till the end of this Auto Renewal period - but hopefully someone else is saved from their trickery

Shady.
Will definitely make sure not to ever use them.
Same thing happened with me when I was with Datapro ISP back in the day when I had an ISDN line.

Did they give the required notice that the contract expires and the consequences?

The Contract is RENEWED FOR 24 MONTHS automatically - and you cannot get out of it unless you pay 100% of the remaining term up front as a so called settlement - which make no sense as you will basically be paying regardless of whether you use it or not. The biggest issue I have is that 1. The AUTO RENEWAL was not under the section in the contract where you would expect to find it - in the section dealing with Termination - almost all contacts now days go to a Month top Month - 2. The so called settlement for early termination is applied to the Auto Renewed Period - so they have you for another 24 months at 4 year old pricing - and we all know how broadband pricing comes down over time - CROOKS !

Ya - ISDN from the 1990s - old school ISP lock in practices that almost no-one uses anymore - should be made public so they don't catch the next guy
