Zuma remains in a private hospital despite denials

Why the heck was the knob chalk admitted to a private hospital anyway? He was a public dis-servant and should have been forced to you the public health disservice he helped create!

A good idea. It could be expanded to the heads of private medical schemes, with them being forced to use the entry level plan which they offer to the public.

So old Adrian Gore would have to rock a Discovery Key Care plan. I'm sure when people sign up for it they are advised of its brilliance, so it should be good enough.

philosophically speaking yes

but as a prior head of state he's entitled to the military's medical care and would get something that is government run, but much higher quality than your typical public hospital patient would get

at least this hospital visit was probably cheaper than the ones where he flew to Russia for "treatment" i.e. to collect stuffed brown envelopes

I get the impression some people think if you are old, you need not be held accountable for your actions ... odd.

Some people?

It seems to be a general approach by many people in court these days.

"be nice to the old person"

or my other favourite one :
"My family will suffer great hardship if I'm found guilty/denied bail"

Thing is he will just be given way elevated treatment relative to the average taxpayer.

What little resources are still left in those public facilities will be consumed treating him, leaving even less than usual for the rest of those that genuinely need care and are forced to rely on public facilities.

Some aunty just tried a "There's an old person living with me so you can't evict me" line

I had a relative who was shot once in the line of duty but survived. The perps whole family came to court pleading about loving son, father etc and shut up when he walked though the door as they thought he was dead.

I wonder what the military's medical infrastructure is like these days.......

a mess.
a friend of mine is at combat flying school, north of pretoria - has had to go to 1 military hospital in pretoria twice.
seemingly the place is on it's last legs - despite once being one of the very best in the southern hemisphere.

like everything "the greatest liberation movement ever" touches - soon turns to schite.
theft, corruption & mismanagement, is the order of the day.

doctors are leaving to go into private practice because they are not prepared to work under those conditions.
with that, there are problems with training, and attracting new doctors

1Mil refer members to private hospitals for anything more than issuing a script.
It's a typical anc failure as always
