Australian cricket tour of South Africa September/October 2026

Hiding at the end of the day. Can't complain. Aussies were better prepared and the Renshaw innings was the point of difference...

4 short days to regroup and go again...

KG was missed. Never again will I question his value to the team dynamic but the batters didn't help the cause either..

7 batters out for under 5 runs in that 2nd innings. Never good enough...

yeah i thought the same thing we needed rabada

also doesnt help some batsmen are so poor

but then again they up against 3 of the best test bowlers

Not really - you cant win if you don't take wickets. All SA had to do was occupy the crease and Renshaws knock would've been insignificant had the SA done just that. A draw means you don't lose.
We're going to lose here.

350 is "normal" for a side like Aus in the first innings.
We had them at 124/6 then 210/7 & 230/8 .... then what ? 364/9 ?

They should never even got to 300.

Game was over before we even went to bat first innings.

Rain forecast for Sunday in PE so I don't imagine we'll be breaking any attendance records here either.

What is the logic of starting a test match on a Sunday? So 4 out of 5 days will be played during the week? Who the **** thought this was a good idea? It's going to be another test with barely anyone attending.

I can only assume the schedule is done with other tours in mind. As an example, England tour Australia from the 13th of November for some ODIs and T20s while our first test against Bangladesh here starts two days later. To schedule matches around when would best suit stadia attendances would affect future series in what is a ridiculously busy and almost non stop international cricket season.

I'd imagine CSA would make far more selling television rights for series than they would for gate takings (assuming they get a cut of that)

Cape Town starts on a Tuesday. Can't imagine that's any better.

They could have started on Thursday or Friday. How much rest do so-called international athletes really need, they haven't played any test cricket for most of the year anyway, do they really need more rest...

First test loss for Bavuma as captain
Needed the 4th seamer.
Most likely would have bowled them out under 200 in the 1st innings
and won the match.
Overall team seems underdone. Would expect a much sharper performance in the 2nd test

R300 for a day at a test match ?

or for all 5 days ?

I think they have office share at the stadium. That might be worth checking out, I'm not very busy at the moment but need to be available.
