Apple TV 4K (2021 vs 2022)

Nice we're getting the new Siri AI.
At launch, ‌Siri‌ AI will support English in the United States, Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, and the United Kingdom.

Nice we're getting the new Siri AI.
But this:
Setup requires the Home app's home owner to have an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad running the latest software, with ‌Siri‌ AI enabled and set to a supported language

LOL @ $299
I ask again why would you need AI on an Apple tv?
Faster chip? Again I highly doubt the average user will see anything being much faster than their 2nd or 3rd gen.
So the specs might be good but why?
I can't see any reason the average user would buy this, especially at that price.

Got the 17 and 16e so I’m fine.

Voice search. I use it all the time on the telly.

A few months ago, I was looking at the 3rd gen but decided to wait for the 4th. Back then the 64GB 3rd gen was going for around R2700 I think.

Now I see the 128GB is R5300 WTF!?!

I should've pulled the trigger back then ffs.
You use to get pretty good secondhand deals on Apple tv. But I suspect those days are also over with these new prices.
I got a 2nd gen 64gb with ethernet for R1800 a few years ago.

The genius part was increasing the price of the 2022 version to $249. Now geniuses on X are going "for ONLY $50 more the 2026 Apple TV is worth it".

"We examine the privacy implications of living-room far-field mics"
That is an interesting point but then again so many devices have them now, the FBI just needs to ask the manufacturer to switch them on so they can remotely listen in on your Diddy parties 😐
