Please explain to me how porting out of rain is not allowed? I have had my number for years. You cannot keep my number hostage. It's been 2 days now that I initiated the port and still not successful.

They have done voice for a long time now. But the service is abysmal half my calls I don't receive. Especially when travelling around the country. It needs a stable 4G signal for you to recieve a call.
Also one of the reasons I've left myself. Horrific service, almost no signal, lucky if you get 4G. Same with the Unit for WiFi. Slow inconsitant and extremely unreliable

Below is an extract from the Number Portability Regulations as published by Icasa.image002.jpg

I ported someone out of RAIN and it worked fine. However i did have to do it 3 times using the call center and also didn't get a notification it was processing or worked, the sim just stopped working and it was done.

Usually port requests are denied because somewhere on the system there's an issue with your account/billing.
Presuming you are or were on contract, it's always best to convert to prepaid first. Only then do the port request.

Ajax perhaps you not quite sure how Rain works.

You buy a 5G package thst comes with 2 4G lines.

You pay your premium every month as how iv done for years now...

You have the option of porting your number in to Rain so that you can use the 100mins and 3Gb every month (Porting in is quick and easy)

The package remains paid up. No option to convert to prepaid.

I simply want my number ported out of the network to another provider. Where Rain is making it extremely difficult perhaps nearly impossible. THIS IS ILLEGAL. They are not allowed to hold my number for ransom.

did you get it right eventually ? i am on the same boat where I want to port out the number but still keep my rain contract and use that rain sim for my tablet

You need to scream very loudly for rain rep to answer you.

I'm actually tired of Rain and the support people. They do not answer my question or fix my issues.

I guess they do not want my R1000 a month anymore. So IL be jumping ship soon.
