Three children and a teacher were killed, and two others critically wounded, in a shooting on Thursday at Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend, Oregon, authorities said.

The suspect, a 16-year-old male, was shot and killed by a bystander, Bend police said.

Along with the teacher, the three children killed were ages 5, 8 and 11, Bend Police Chief Mike Krantz said in a news conference Thursday night. Two others, a 7-year-old child and a 54-year-old teacher, were taken to St. Charles Medical Center with critical injuries. No names were immediately released.

Thoughts and prayers again.
"An officer reported that the suspect had been shot by a community member who had seen the suspect enter the school and pursued him into the school and engaged him," Krantz told reporters.

Here are the shooter's details. His mom says he was a "good boy".

He doesn't seem to be a tranny or anything, but I'm sure someone desperate enough will find a way of making him one. 😉

Google says he was a "former special-needs student of the school", whatever that means...

I was curious to see that YouTuber Casey LaDelle lived in the area, and it turns out his daughter was at the school. Google:
Local heavy-rescue operator and community member Casey LaDelle (owner of Cascade Heavy Rescue in Bend) and his family posted updates expressing relief and gratitude that their family members were safe following the emergency response at the school.

Is there a point to your comments, or are you just making comments ? 🤷‍♂️ 🤷‍♂️ 🤷‍♂️

As per your link,

Krantz told reporters Friday that the bystander, who was identified by his family as Kaylub Giamanco, took from his vehicle a .40-caliber pistol which he legally owned, and entered the school and classroom where the shooting was taking place.
"As he made entry through the forced open doors, he heard shooting and saw a teacher involved in a physical altercation with the suspect," Krantz said. "He then went to the classroom where the struggle was underway and fired his weapon, striking the suspect multiple times."
Krantz also praised the "heroic actions" of a teacher who engaged the suspect in the physical struggle, saying she "threw her cellphone at the suspect and then tackled him and fought to take the firearm from him."

That teacher, who was not hurt, "almost certainly helped prevent more bloodshed," Krantz said.

Yes, I'm not sure what your point is. Don't you think it would have been good if the loon hadn't been able to get hold of a shotgun so easily in the first place?

The "good guy with a gun" can't really undead the victims, so it's better for them not to be shot in the first place.

OK hang on, I'll bite, so according to you, what preventative measures should have been in place, as you say "easily obtained" ?

Again, I'll bite, this seems like an emotional one, this is like saying cancel all investigations on criminals, because there already have been numerous victims so what's the use, hey look we caught the pedo he molested ten children, nope let him go because there's already ten victims, hey look we caught the "Kempton Park serial killer" nope, let him go because he already killed nine women...

How did this guy get hold of the shotgun? It should have been safely locked away. In so many of these cases there seems to have been limited safe keeping involved - if you want to own a gun, you should accept responsibility for where it ends up. In this case it seems that the idiot's mom should have the book thrown at her.

There was a school shooting in the UK in 1996. Laws were passed making it much more difficult to obtain guns. There hasn't been one since.

Yet it's a weekly occurrence in Yanksville. Yay for 2A.
