Is it just me or does it seem that most pizza places put less and less cheese on their pizzas?
I mean the pizza prices skyrocketed, but why then so little cheese?
It seems to be hit and miss on my side, last nights pizza, perfect amount of cheese but a couple weeks back nope. Maybe the guys making it?

when i want a more proper Pizza than the commercial franchise stuff i go to Col'caccios, but when i want the franchise stuff for a cheap hungerbuster version ie a slightly more casual meal, then i go to either Panarottis or Romans whichever is nearer at the time

for Pasta in Durban one cannot get than Spiga d'oro - they make the best pasta in this city
There are some decent panarottis, that use wood ovens instead of the usual electric.

I've seen in movies about the dips. Strange concept. A pizza should be the whole flavour.

I mean if I think along the lines of focaccia it makes some sense.

I mean pizza really is just bread with stuff on top.

Yeah if it's just the dough like I mentioned then a dip would be great. The dough at Kiosk is very tasty and the toppings just make it that much more delicious.

These guys make an epic pizza!

The Chimichurri Steak Pizza 🤤

Romans made the best garlic breads then they took it off the menu for some reason.

Ashleys's in Cape Town (Goodwood and Kraaifontein) makes mean MF pizzas. Filling is thick so you must be hungry.
Price is a bit higher, but you get money's worth.

There’s an Italian place called Avero that just opened at Riverlands and maybe it’s the fact it’s brand new still but it’s probably the best pizza I’ve ever had in Cape Town.

Also surprisingly well priced and portioned.
R130 for a margarita isn't that well priced.

In a sit down non-franchise in one of the newest trendiest settings in Cape Town?

I didn’t find it to be outrageous.

Note I didn’t say it’s cheap, just well priced. For the setting it matches.

I "grew up" with Debonairs, which was a fairly premium pizza back then. Sadly, it is not the same quality as what is was back when I delivered for them. I miss a decent Tikka Chicken sub ( I think that went into the hidden menu before I started my actual career ). The last time I had a Debonairs, it was sadness on every bite (cardboard with fat, salt and misery). Yay for Pizza Perfect being the average Joe semi-decent. Some of the other brands are heinously expensive for what is essentially a cheap meal, but I'll bite from time-to-time, and Hello Tomato has a got me a few times.

Tjirre... the tannies that wanted topless delivery for lunch ... Just smile and have manners for that tip...

Had pannarotis again after a long while. An actual sit down. Had that big pizza that you can have four toppings on. Great way to explore the menu.

Enjoyed it. Usually just grab a delivery. When there’s a special at colcachio’s or pizza perfect. Prices are just stupidly high on the apps.

It was great to get it piping hot again as well.
