Australian cricket tour of South Africa September/October 2026

Same for me. I value away wins more. Sydney 94 and Melbourne 2008, JP + Dale pulling us from 140/6 to 450-odd to set up our first post-apartheid series win in Aus...

Yeah, we've won 2 series in India which should matter because of how hard it is to do (they do) but I don't feel much for them. I guess the Aussies have always been the benchmark since re-admission.

I'd throw that session of Amla and Smith smashing it to all parts at the Waca 2012 in there also...200 runs in the session when the game was still in the balance to set up the series win.

I can't remember the match or the opponents. But some years ago, I think it was Steyn bowling; the batsman hit the ball straight back to the bowler, who caught it. The batsman asked, "Did you catch it?" in disbelief, and the bowler just nodded and smiled.

I heard a stat that this is the first time the Aussies have lost a test match after Head has scored a century.

No love for Dane?

I don't rate Gerald or Bosch that highly. Bosch's batting can go either way, certainly not a solid all-rounder.

County cricket bowled him into the group. He almost 38 and his pace has dropped a lot. 5+ Kph slower then Wiaan Mulder. I don't rate 38 year old version Dane.
