I don't know if I just haven't used my phone as much during the day or if the battery really lasts longer, but I was on 52% last night when I went to bed. Which isn't something I see often lolPerhaps a SLIGHTLY longer span between charges?

Haven't noticed any difference if I'm being completely honest. But does it feeeel the same?

Having used this for an evening I can say it doesn't look different but the animations to me feel different.Haven't noticed any difference if I'm being completely honest.
I love the dots that show when a app is using the mic, location or camera. That has made me realize just how many times random apps connect to either.
Nope. It's been much of the same really. Nothing I use is different lolOne UI 9.0 is out on my S24U. Has anybody had any issues with battery or performance?

The jump from One UI 8 / 8.5 to One UI 9 on your Galaxy S24 Ultra introduces around 12 to 15 notable differences. Instead of a radical visual overhaul, One UI 9 focuses on a refined interface (built on Android 17), enhanced privacy, and new specialized Galaxy AI features. [1, 2]
However, because you are on the S24 Ultra, Samsung has intentionally omitted several new camera features (like 24MP default mode and Super Steady Horizontal Lock) to keep them exclusive to the S25 and S26 Ultra. [1, 2]
1. Redesigned Quick Panel & Layout
- Customizable Sliders: The brightness, volume, and media player controls are now fully resizable and can be reoriented or independently scaled. [1, 2]
- Decoupled Tiles: The Dark Mode toggle and Mute button have been unlinked from the brightness slider, allowing you to move or edit them individually. [1, 2]
2. New Galaxy AI & Smart Tools
- My Fan Cam: A new Gallery AI tool that lets you take an existing video, select a specific human subject, and automatically reframe/track them to save a newly centered copy. [1, 2]
- Call Brief: Displays relevant context cards, calendar events, and brief overviews right on the screen during your phone calls. [1, 2]
3. Security, Privacy & Diagnostics
- Blue Location Dot: Whenever an app accesses your GPS location in real time, a bright blue dot appears in the status bar. Tapping it immediately lets you manage that app's exact permissions.
- Warranty and Care Hub: A dedicated section at the very top of your Settings app allows you to quickly check your device warranty status, access troubleshooting, and run hardware diagnostics.
4. System Enhancements
- Motion Assist: An Android 17-native accessibility feature designed to reduce motion sickness/carsickness by displaying subtle visual cue dots on the screen while riding in vehicles.
- Samsung Notes "Tape": A new redaction tool that allows you to temporarily cover up specific text or images in your notes.
- Native Network Speed: You can finally display your real-time network speeds directly on the status bar without needing a separate Good Lock extension.
You need to calm down a bit. @TofuMofu said nothing he/she/it uses is different. While changes may have occurred in the background or within other apps, for their specific use case nothing has changed.this is a statement made by someone who hasn't got a clue - it just means that nothing you use is different - it in absolutely no way means that nothing has changed because millions of other people will use more things than you do in the phone and it means that you wasted your money buying a phone with functions you don't need (because you don't use them) and you would probably have been better off buying an A24 instead of an S24
how any of these changes affect you isn't important - they have been made and they exist and are on your phone already so a statement saying that there is no difference is wildly inaccurate. You do not have to use those changes to understand that those changes have actually been made (generally throughout the S24 series because even the lower models mostly have these changes)
