I won't go as far as "love". The standard to best is extremely low and they don't have to do much to be a step above the standard. But any progress is welcomed. I'm happy for the community here as the locusts were not kind to them.I love it sooooooo much! Best municiplaity in KZN! The DA will turn it into a jewel!
We absolutely love PAPPAS!
You must understand just how depressed and downtrodden Umngeni was when Pappas took over. This was after the 2021 riots. Part of Howick's CBD was a burnt-out husk. Potholes everywhere. Parks that were unkempt.I won't go as far as "love". The standard to best is extremely low and they don't have to do much to be a step above the standard. But any progress is welcomed. Yeah it was pretty bad. As is/was many other towns. Will be great the day water and sanitation and police services can be restored, and then of course the Justice system and courts. It really shows how dark and evil the ANC and they spawn is and the destruction they bring. You must understand just how depressed and downtrodden Umngeni was when Pappas took over. I think Umngeni is now the poster child of what a change in regime can do for a place,Yeah it was pretty bad. As is/was many other towns. The municipality used to be over-budget and constantly broke. Recently it got audited and it was declared to be the best-run municipality in KZN. It really is the DA's darling.
In a perverse way, the MK is a product of justice's failure. Just like many of the other problems we face today. No wonder our politics is littered with grunters fighting for a place at the trough all on their second plus feeds.Yeah it was pretty bad. As is/was many other towns. Its a hive of activity now. Streets are clean. Workers always fixing and improving things. New businesses popping up. Clean public areas. Festivals. Tours. All sorts happening. Smiles all round...
One can only hope, the city is in such a horrific state. I actually laughed going past the cemetary in town 2 weeks ago and saw them cutting the grass and cleaning it up before the elections, it's probably the first time that's happened since last election.DA still leading in Msunduzi! Could it be possible?!

Msunduzi · 2026 Local: MKP 38.1%
Ward ballot: MKP 38.1% · ANC 20.7% · DA 20.3%. Turnout 56.2%. Umkhonto Wesizwe Party largest: 31 of 81 seats. Official IEC results on ESP.esp.info
Very hard to shake that 20% identity, no matter how much the ANC underperforms. It seems suspicious that since counting started the ANC and DA were on 30% but the ANC keeps staying on 30% yet the DA has dropped to 24%.
This is not true. They have cleaned it 5 times this year at least. They removed a lot of trees. Did a lot of work there the last two years. It was pretty bad. Still think it needs a monthly grass cut in the summer. And trees need to be trimmed a lot more often. One can only hope, the city is in such a horrific state. It is going to be close in my little town. Everything will depend on PR seats and who is willing to join forces and form a coalition. If ANC can convince the EFF, MK & SACP they can still be the ruling administration here.Looks like with a coalition we will have a new administration in our municipality
