Italian chef fired after refusing to put pineapple on pizza

I love capers on a pizza too.

And anchovies, same time. :love:

I am forced to eat gluten free pizza these days which means I never have it because it sucks 99.9% of the time. Recently though I was away in a remote town in EC. A place there makes GF pizza better than most conventional bases I ever had. I so wish I could get it in JHB. Anchovies, olives, capers! They also do a mean bacon, feta, avo.

You have no chilli in any food? WTAF .
Speaking of which:

My wife used to make a mean hot dog:
Tomatoes and onions (fresh);
Red viennas (Renown only, and cut into 1 cm pieces);
1 teaspoon of sugar;
¼ Green Chilli.
Served in a sesame seed hot dog roll.

I used to take 4 just for lunch at work.

Pity that the Renown brand of viennas and the sesame seed rolls are unobtainable here.

nou is ek honger

Not all nightshade. I mean capsicum as the 'angry' in all chillies, from the mildest jalapenos etc. and the rest of that subgenus. I love the night-family's kinder side e.g. tomatoes.
Capsaicin vs capsicum. You have a sensitivity to the former rather that the latter.

Edit. You may also have a sensitivity to green peppers… ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ooh, my spelling failed me. Thanks for the correction. Yes, even raw green peppers have a 'burning' sensation for me unless fully cooked and mixed with onions and tomatoes.

My favourite pizza of all time was store bought frozen pizza when I was a kid.
It was anchovies and grapes. Never seen that combination anywhere and very strange that it was a pizza combo you could buy in a store.
That is just child abuse. Hope the family that adopted you after that pizza did not have too much trouble with food issues.
/shiver anchovies (yuckity yuck) and then grapes (sheesh)

Who gets the say what is right or not food wise - be it pineapple on pizza, well done steak, or what ever else. You like what you like. Tastes and likes differ. Just get over it.

The out range here is more because there’s a whole pizza mafia that defines what real Neapolitan pizza is this goes against that directive.

Everything from the fermentation down to the flour and ingredients used is very tightly controlled and approved.

Ham and Pineapple pizza bianca is delish (white pizza, no tomato base)

Tomato and pineapple can clash for many, for understandable reason, just sugar/sweet overload, poor balance.

Nope. I am overly sensitive to capsicum. I taste absolutely nothing but pain from it and break out sweating as if I ran a marathon.
I bet you would like my Chili sauce that I only make about 12 800gram jars once a year using Bishops crown chilies that I grow myself. They are only 150000 on the scoville scale so a mild bite really.

I had something like that at a place in Rooi Els. It was phenomenal and best part was no one tried to steal it.

Its quite a strong profile but they did get the balance right.

The place I went to was the Green Dragon Cafe in Hogsback, EC. It's located at the backpackers premises and is very much out of the way. Highly recommended if ever you find yourself there.

Ah..Hogsback...any pizza goes down like a homesick mole when one is assuaging the relentless onslaught of munchies after partaking of the famous local mountain cabbage

Haha, I had just done the Amatola hike - same effect. :laugh:

But yes, does seem to be a very, um, free-spirited kinda place. Lovely vibe.
