Yeah, but that means very little as you have seen previously, When Eskom cuts power they blame the government, protest and block the roads. Part of the reason the ANC lost support there is because they allowed Eskom to cut power.Does he know that Eskom still has a large part of Soweto not City power?

City Power to take over electricity supply to Soweto and other Joburg areas from Eskom | The Herald
Soweto will soon be getting electricity directly from the City of Johannesburg.theherald.co.za
Same guy, man has no shame.
Mashaba does appear to be a huge liability. ASA are performing far worse in one of the metros compared to the other two.
Tell them not to worry. Everything will be counted in good time. Counting will probably finish sometime tomorrow. 84% of voting districts have been counted and that should reach 90%+ by this evening. The people in our ward are getting worried since they have not finished counting in two of the four voting stations.
Its likely not the counting taking time but the central. Our stations were done like by 1am on the night.Tell them not to worry. Everything will be counted in good time. Counting will probably finish sometime tomorrow. 84% of voting districts have been counted and that should reach 90%+ by this evening.
Yeah, isnt it around 50%?Does he know that Eskom still has a large part of Soweto not City power?

Until recently, Soweto residents owed Eskom R12bn in unpaid bills. Through negotiations with the city, R5bn of this debt was written off in the past financial year.

It was 50% not sure of the split nowadays, but looking at CP it is probably still roughly that.Yeah, isnt it around 50%?
How much does jhb owe eskom?
Does Eskom just write off all the grid infrastructure too when they it over to jhb?
It is a 1000 votes... Though our ward is notorious for the VF+ almost winning in a traditional DA ward and was featured heavily in the VF is gaining a lot of votes thread. The interesting part will be that the VF+ representative is Indian.Tell them not to worry. Everything will be counted in good time. Counting will probably finish sometime tomorrow. 84% of voting districts have been counted and that should reach 90%+ by this evening.
Not just Herman, Athol too.Do not call Action SA, ASA. Herman gets very sensitive if people call them ASA.
Why are they so hung up about it?Not just Herman, Athol too.
Good question. Why are they so hung up about it?
2019 - Herman Mashaba, dropped the DA and therefore dropped Mayorship, ANC took JHB back with Geoffrey "Geoff" Makhubo, who died in 2021, Jolidee Matongo took over in 2021 (died as well like a month in), Mpho Moerane for two months until, Mpho Phalatse - 2021 - 2022/2023, Dada Morero (one month in 2022), Thapelo Amad only two months in 2023, Kabelo Gwamanda - 2023 to 2024, Dada Morero 2024 to present.Oh guys....I dont know....was excited with results....but my logical side of my brain (however small it might be) kicked in .... coalitions....we have such a bad history. Joburg I heard a stat last night....8 mayors in 4 or 5 years ....WTF ..... how can you achieve anything with that kind of turnover in mayors.
I dont mean to be nagative ..... and glad the ANC have lost so much ground....... but I see another few years of bloody motions of no confidence and mayors being locked out of offices etc. /sigh
The numbers are different this time. Nobody can bring a MONC and form a coalition without the DA. Cheer up...Oh guys....I dont know....was excited with results....but my logical side of my brain (however small it might be) kicked in .... coalitions....we have such a bad history.
