Many news websites have closed their comments sections, with Vice deciding to cut its comments in December.
Do comments sections add value to sites (the comments below the articles, not forums), or are they just a place for people to be sarcastic and attack one another?
Article comments disappearing in South Africa
Most of South Africa’s top news websites have closed their comments, which they say is a result of online trolling, racist and sexist comments, and personal attacks.
I am using Opera 12.15 and suddenly the comments are not shown when looking at News24 articles.
Since these are the very best part of the news I would like to have them back. If I display the articles in Chrome, IE, FF or Safari the articles show perfectly.
Any ideas?
