I'm on a Telkom do Basic plan. 20GB softcap data, 2Mbps line.
I've been on the package for about 1.5 years, and have never used more than 15GB.
On 26/06/2017 my data start disappearing at an alarming rate. For the day it said that I used +- 14GB.
Which is strange because nobody...

I have two newly obtained SIM's on my Softcap 40GB product.
The lady at the Telkom store confirms that they are working.. but with either SIM, when I connect to the web (via windows 10 and HSDPA dongle) - it's says connected, no internet.
I can confirm it's getting an IP...
Okay, so I have a 10mbps line with Telkom and 100gb softcap product. No major issues with the line in general, and very rarely have to phone for help. Wonderful! And unusual.
In the meanwhile I've gotten Netflix and at 1080p, between myself and my cousin, we are easily hitting cap every month...
Regarding Telkom's softcap. Are there any specifics on how they throttle?
Ie. do they reduce your speed by 50%, or only certain services? Their terms and conditions are (I guess intentionally) vague surrounding the topic, so I was wondering if anyone has specific information on how they go...
