(021) 762 exchange location?

Hi

I was wondering if anyone knew where exactly the 762 wynberg/plumstead exchange was situated?

I live just off Droordrift Road closest to the Pick 'n Pay Plumstead area, and was wondering If I'd be able to get the 4mbit sync and speeds when it's upgraded?

As the crow flies distance is not a good way to determine maximum line speed (unless the exchange is 100m away from you). There are other factors like poor copper quality or a very indirect cable path to your house that may affect line speeds. If you already have adsl then you should get your "line attenuation" and "signal to noise ratio" stats from you router and use a line speed calculator like http://212.23.23.177/calc.htm . Even though it's not 100% accurate you will still get a better indication.

Your line sync speed has already been upgraded to 4meg. (only from your house to the exchange) Also your SNR is above 10 db at 4096 so you have nothing to worry about, when telkom stop throttling all 1024 subcribers to 1meg and up everybody to 4meg then you will get full speed available with no line sync problems.
