Hi,

I am using Iburst via a desktop modem and an external antenna. I have 100% signal but whenever I try to send an email larger than 1mb I get this error:

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Subject 'Fw: Journal articles', Account: 'Struan.Reid', Server: 'smtp.gmail.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 465, Secure(SSL): Yes, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

It was working properly until about two or three weeks ago. I am using windows XP and outlook express. I have tried using thunderbird and outlook and get the same error message.

I can download large emails without any issues and when I connect to a wireless hotspot on my iphone I have no problem sending large emails via outlook express and 3G.

The problem seems to be with iburst and I cannot find out what the issue is.

Any help greatly appreciated!!

Thanks

Struan

Have you tried extending the time out in your Outlook express? Or turning SSL off (I see it's on).

Also try to set the "log onto incoming mail server before sending mail" option - as it might be why the mail isn't sending along.

Being 1mb in size, It would appear to be a connection issue, or possibly your firewall / antivirus interfering with the transmission.

Those are my immediate thoughts

Hi,

Thanks, I am using a gmail account so cannot turn off SSL. I have tried extending the time out but no joy. Also tried the "log onto incoming mail server before sending mail" option - also no luck.

I have turned my anivirus, microsoft security essentials, off and it makes no differences.

What is strange is that every now and then a large mail will go through but 99% of the time the error message comes up.
