I have been told that I have been upgraded from 1 to 2 megs but my internet Gateway connection window shows 1.5Mbps. My Actual dowload speed is 1.2Mbps - Which is correct 1.5 or 2

What kind of ISP account do you have, capped or uncapped?
If uncapped, and you haven't upgraded your ISP account, they will limit you to the speed specified on your account with them.
If capped, you should get full line speed, but this might be influenced by a variety of physical attributes. Perhaps the SNR on your line is too high to actually achieve 2Mbps, maybe you're too far from the DSLAM etc, etc. Have a look on your router at what rate your line is syncing at. Maybe that will provide some insight.

Hi - I have a capped account with telkom internet - SNR margin up 12.35dB down 12.00dB LIne attenuation up 69.0 dB down 37.0 dB. I am +/- 5K from exchange. I have a Billion 400g router but when I log into it, can not see the syncing speed other than on desktop the gateway internet window showing 1.5Mbps.

Hi Digitaluser
The attenuation up at 69 is not great. You can look at an article on it here
It might pay to have Telkom check the line for you.
Another useful tool is here you put in your stats (which I did) and it gives throretical maximums for you and they are pretty much what you are experiencing.

Anywho Telkom is I would suggest the next step.

Regards
Tim
