10 Free Apps Every Mac User Should Have

A pretty eclectic list from someone I don't think I'd trust to take out the garbage...
No NeoOffice:(

I don't even have a Mac lol, just saw it on digg and thought it might be useful ;)

Not your fault, its the nature of the beast - lots of chaff to wade through before you get to the wheat!:)

I smell a challenge - lets have your (and anyone else's top 10 free mac apps) :)

10's a bit long... how about top 5 - sorta like High Frequency - Top 5 desert island singles. I'm up for that.
Do free versions of shareware count.... or only ones that don't expire?

Five is fine with me. Of course there will be plenty of dupes - Quicksilver, stuffit, transmit, etc - but we'll be able to form a consensus.

No apple software ;)

  3. Handbrake - DVD's to go - whoah!
  4. Google Earth - where in the world is Bwana?
  5. iStumbler - the low down on wireless

Came across XFolders on Apple's OSX download pages. I have been using WinCommander for ever so this to me is a must have.

@adsl3g ... was just about to ask you about xFile, as I couldn't find it on the Apple site ... now I see you changed it :D

I looked at the screenshots for XFolders ... looks like something I can use. Will definitely give it a try

Two more usefull utils I found:

Disk inventory X - shows size of all folders/files on HDD.

Corripio - Finds artwork for your iTunes library from iTunes store, WalMart and others. Useful locally for those who do not have access to the USA iTunes store.
