Hi Guys,

I know the Xperia Z is an HD 10" Tablet? Are there any others at the moment? Otherwise, what is the best tablet at the moment?

Thanks

Regards

If its HD you're looking for than the Nexus 10 has the highest resolution of any 10" tablet ever... scratch that it's the highest of any tablet ever period.

Agree, the Nexus 10 is possibly the best but make sure that you check all features and get what you need.

The Nexus 10 for example does not have 3G access, only WiFi which was a deal breaker for me. Also no memory card slot so limited to either 16 or 32GB (less operating system etc...).

Any links to nexus 10 in SA? If I say 3g is a deal breaker, what would u recommend?

What about the benefits of a Nexus device? Vanilla Android + Rom updates immediately when the new version is released straight from Google. Highest resolution

But.... Wifi only, not a deal breaker if you have Wifi or a phone with a hotspot.
No SD card but it does support OTG so you can plug in a flash drive.

I have an Asus TF-700T, which is also HD.

It does not have 3G, but has 64GB onboard. as well as a microSDXC xlot and an SDXC slot in the optional KB base.

With the keyboard mine has 256GB memory, as well as an 11 hour battery life (also battery in KB).

And there is a newer and higher resolution model coming out soon.

But right now I might go for the Sony Tablet Z, if I could get a 64GB 3G model - haven't seen this around !

Not sure, ask me again in around 2 weeks time. Going to be replacing 3 phones and 3 tablets around middle Sept so will start doing some homework next week.

Got a couple colleagues that have picked up the Tablet Z now. Definitely the one I'd get if I had to pick up a tablet.

Just out of interest bud, why this over the nexus?

Show me a shop that sells it? The Tablet Z I can get from any cell shop in SA on contract,

Also I haven't played with the nexus at all, while I had a chance to play with the Tablet Z and Galaxy Tabs. The Tablet Z's build quality is just amazing. It's also water proof and 1900*1200 is awesome for a 10" Tab, which is way higher than any of the Galaxy Tabs. Actually the resolution of my 26" monitor :o

You can compare the specs here, I'll even link you, but also think about warranty. If you import a Nexus you'll struggle if something goes wrong.

How much memory does the Tablet Z distributed by Vodacom have ?

16GB is too low for me, it should preferably have 64GB.

New Asus : http://www.techradar.com/news/mobil...rings-tegra-4-upgrade-eyes-q3-release-1156130

Its 10.1-inch screen is now loaded with a 2560 x 1600 resolution (up from 1920 x 1200), which is higher than the iPad's current Retina display. Plus its 10-point multi-touch makes for more responsive control.
That gives the new Transformer Pad Infinity screen a 299ppi density - which comfortably beats the iPad 4 and its 264ppi display.
It's also now boasting a 1.9GHz quad-core Tegra 4 processor, 2GB of RAM, 4K output via HDMI, as well as USB 3.0 and Bluetooth 3.0 to boot. Phew.

AFAIK it's the 16GB, but takes MicroSD up to 32GB so you can just pop one of those in.

Why not??

I Got my tab Z this weekend and have to say Im very impressed with this device. Everything you will ever need in a tablet. And I have to add, it feels much better than the my Xperia z....UI is smoother and just looks great on the screen.

I haven't seen or touched. The nexus 10 in real life but have played around with the nexus 7.

Sorry for double post.

I can confirm it is 16gb with 11.xx gb available. Also no SD card is included. But believe it supports 64gb card?? (you do get a charging dock though)

Hmmm, I can live with 32GB (and a microSDXC slot), but not 16GB.

Maybe I will have to import a Tablet Z.
