10 MB ADSL - Centurion (Pretoria)

Does anyone here stay in the Eldoraigne area, 012654. I called Telkom yesterday and they said my exchange is 10mb capable but today they say it isn't, any idea how to get through to the right people?
 
The Hennops Park exchange shows 10mb capable but just called Telkom and they told me that there is no 10mb capacity :confused:

I think they still need to move to the new equipment because the ADSL still connects on G.DMT and not ADSL2+ - I am going to give it some time and phone them again. Unless they only connect new lines to the new equipment which will mean that you will have to order a new line from them. I hope this isn't the case - We've been waiting for ages!
 
sigh ppl getting upgrade to 10mb, i am still waitting for those retard to come fix the line, 3weeks waiting ,the exchange is still down.
 
Does anyone that live in Highveld, Centurion have 10mb yet? The Telkom speed checker still shows that my exchange only supports 4mb.
 
In Rooihuiskraal and just been upgraded from 4mb to 6mb and the modem shows attainable rate (11,424Kbps). Could I ask Telkom to put me on 10mb or did they put me on 6mb (6144 Kbps) for a reason ?

Telkom ADSL checker still shows exchange only supports up to 4mb.

Normally it has to do with the distance from the exchange, hence they default you to 6Mbps.

You could request an increase and check the stability.... and then drop it by 2Mbps until it stabilises.
