Depends what you want. If you want a media player that can also host media on your network (NAS) then the Zidoo X9S or Z9S are great.

Is it the Nvidia shield you talking about.
I have a mygica ATV1960 as I wanted to be able to plug my box directly via ethernet. The Mi Box only streams via wifi. Mygica ATV1960 also allows to add a 2.5" hard drive into it for storing movies etc onto. plus USB ports.
I have a 500 gig drive inside the Mygica and a 4 terrabyte external drive connected via USB onto it.
works fine for me
The NVidia Shield. You didn't mention your budget.
It uses a Tegra X1 chip, similar to a Nintendo Switch.

Get yourself a NUC, then you can do basically anything you would wan't.

Obviously not 100% but within reason.
Then get a Shield if you plan on gaming on it as well (GameStream, GameCast, various other Emulators).
