Hi

I was wondering if it would make a big difference if i go for 100Mbps vs 1000Mbps network.

i want to create a small home server - it will mainly do all the downloading of torrents & "news".
and then streaming & copying all files to other PC's.

thx:D

The file copy will go faster, but the internet won't really. Most devices are gigabit these days, you might as well get gigabit.

Go gigabit. Its fairly cheap & provides a noticable benefit when moving files.

As Syn said, no improvement on internet speeds really, but its bliss for normal network traffic. Watch movies straight from the drives of other pc's, mount ISOs on other PCs and install them straight, with the performance as good as if you had it on your own PC. Its worth every cent.

Sweet. Good choice. I tried wireless, then went 100, now looking at 1000 :(

Get the best from the start.
