Hi,

Before I upgrade......

Can anybody please let me know if they've tested the ADSL 1024, I'd like to know if the download speed is actually double the speed if supported by download site offcourse!

Thanks!

Thats what he asked, if someone actually have proof :)

We can all do the maths.

Killdadoob it doesnt take brains, all it takes is the time to read the original question again ;-)

Nobody can get it, let alone test it . . .

Considering most peoples ADSL usage is pretty "mathematically" correct, and the iBurst guys get 90-100kbps, I pretty sure 1Mbps, is going to give you just that.

1 Mbit at R80 per GB you will have to put around R40 into the telkom account every 1 hour you download at max speed :-)

I see absolutely no point going any faster than 192 kbps if we going to pay R80 per GB soon ...

How about a shared connection in an office and faster browsing?

Don't confuse the speed with the cap (as many people are trying to do).. they are 2 different things.. 1 is how fast the connection will be (user experience) and the other is how much you can use.. (content)

The upgrade takes up to 48 hours so I'll let you know then what its like - hopefully.

Don't count on getting your line upgraded like they say it will be.

I ordered an upgrade from 384 to 512 at about 2pm Friday, to my knowledge it still had not been done (Router is still reporting the same speeds as before). I phoned and complained and asked to change the order to 1024.

The response was we can't put another order in while the old order is still in the process, and that they can't remove the old order because it has been "completed" and I should be getting the speeds of a 512 line, but it is not in the billing system.

I was then put through to the testing department which told me my line was still at 384 speeds.

Go figure.

Agh come on mikes.......it was an innocent joke, and it was pretty obvious what I meant. I think you and killadoob is a bit to sensitive....let's keep the forum friendly and not strafe away from the point to much? :)
