I'm thinking of buying a pc or laptop. I would prefer the laptop due to portability, but the pc seems more practical since it's easier to upgrade over time.
But there is something I'm confused about. There are always two sets of opinions when it comes to graphics cards.
#1: Some people say don't buy more than a 1060 if you only plan to play on 1080p. Rather save the money and keep upgrading every two-three years.
#2: others say buy the best possible card you can afford right now.
As I said, I would prefer getting a laptop , but I know it's not possible to change the GPU. But if I got for example a gtx 1070 in the laptop, and I only wanted to play at 1080p and willing to bring the graphics down to medium, how long would it last me? I'm not a huge fan of lugging around a pc and upgrading every few years, but at the same time I don't want to buy a laptop that will be useless in say 5-6 years time.
