Hi there,
In one of the News articles on Broadband Price Comparison recently, there was a 10GB Telkom DSL option mentioned in the comparison (http://mybroadband.co.za/news/Broadband/6960.html). On the Telkomsa.net website, there are still the usual 3/4GB options, and this is what I have coming through on my phone bill each month. Sorry for my ignorance, but where does one get a 10GB Telkom DSL option?

Not too sure...
Maybe phone telkom? Probably your best be, or move to another ISP who does do 10 gig deals

Hmm, well maybe the "staff writer" who wrote the article could possibly respond? Unfortunately no one has responded to my question in the comment section of the article itself yet.

10Gb local most probably. Which comes on a standard 1GB international account, dude :p

damn ... was hoping somebody would tell me how to get a cheap 100GB international cap ... for less than R1K, lol ....

Maybe. Though there is no mention of that, especially as the comparison seems to be with other ISP's offering International packages. For example, the Neotel NeoConnect Prime is not only a local connection. I am pretty sure MyBroadband are not idiots, so I must have overlooked something.

Hehe, now this is just weird! Doesn't SOMEONE know the answer to my question? I mean this is a moderated site by MyBroadband staff (I assume), who wrote the article. I would have thought by this stage someone would have asked someone... to ask someone... to ask someone... to ask the article writer, where the hell did they get the 10 GB Telkom DSL cap from in the article? :-)

I emailed Mybroadband, and received an answer from Cara. The prompt reply was: The 10GB Telkom DSL options are available from other ISPs not Telkom Internet."
Thanks again for your quick reply, it certainly sorts this issue now. :-)

I do think the article is misleading then. The actual article states "How does iBurst’s new WiMax pricing compare to similar offerings from Neotel, Telkom, iBurst Wireless and Vodacom HSDPA?" It then proceeds to compare those actual companies with one another, but when it comes to what I assumed was a Telkom package, they only refer to it as "DSL 512" or "DSL 4Mbps". So I think it is misleading, but certainly not intentional.

How is it misleading?

Use your logic. Telkom is SAIX, therefore, if they offer 10GB, or 20GB or 100thousand gazillion GB to a customer and it's SAIX based, whether an ISP resells it or not, it's still TELKOM.
