10Gbps Gauteng broadband network makes progress

Internet services with a bandwidth of 1 or 10 Gigabytes (symmetrical or asymmetrical);

Did they perhaps mean Gigabits?

In other news, this tender is likely to be part of the next fiscal year report on 'Wasteful Expenditure' simply because I lack the faith in any form of government office to think, act and do. Except of course SARS, who has the unique distinction of being so efficient at taking our money that they make Navy Seals look like plastic ducks, in a pond. a Dirty pond.

If you've not picked up on it, I don't trust the tender process or good intentions [post eToll] anymore than I do that this project might have the sole purpose of laying lots of cables to Nkandla for it's whirlpool project, which aims to reduce signal loss to DSTv during overcast weather. Apparently, signal loss is of vital importance to performance of Bafana-Bafana as well as the firepool during indoor operations.

It's going to trip, fall into the firepool and drown in a few years time

I would love to see the specifications and the deployment plan along with the pricing model for businesses and ISPs to rent fibre.

And then they add on e-i-toll. Each time your data passes through a switch it'll charge you in a "user pays" way.
