Hey guys, I have a 10MB uncapped like with Telkom and right now my line is running at 0,65mbs

I don’t know what to do.. restarted my router like 10 times.. I’m lost.. and my house phone isn’t even working now I can’t call Telkom..

Also, usually I catch 8 to 9 Mbs

If your landline is down then clearly something is very wrong with the line. For now just log the fault using a cellphone. It's an automated process and can be concluded quite quickly, so paying for the call shouldn't be an issue.

Hey bro, thanks for your response.. what I meant is the house phone is physically damaged.. but that’s like that for 6 months.. we don’t use the house phone so never thought to replace it.. now when I need it, it’s messed up

I see. Definitely get your phone sorted sometime then. It might be helpful if you posted a trace route then. If you aren't aware how, just open Command Prompt on a PC and run 'tracert www.google.com'. Copy the results and paste them here. Place [/CODE] after the results and
Code:
before them to make it more legible.

Reminds me of Afrihost and their "testing" a few years ago.

6.5% line speed shaping.

****! I already used 58GB of data according to the Telkom app.. could I be capped?

I’m gonna get a phone this weekend for sure lol.. I’ll attempt this.. thanks for your efforts. Much appreciated

I’m uncapped but when I say capped, I meant throttled.. can I be throttled on 58GB??

No. Telkom has generous thresholds for their uncapped accounts. 10Mbps accounts will only start getting throttled after 450GB (50% for the 2 peak hours every day) and have it bad after 675GB (25% for 4 peak hours every day). Beyond 900GB it's 12.5% your regular speed for 17 hours a day.

Midnight to 7am every day does not count towards your cap by the way. Not sure if your usage figure includes that.

I really don’t know what to do

Wow guys. There's an online app for logging a fault, so just after reading the responses here it's so painful to me.

Please click the link for that app: https://apps.telkom.co.za/logafault

This was suggested above.. but thank you for taking the time to state this.. I was just looking for an alternative to see if there was something I could do instead of leaving it in hellkoms hands

Can log a fault on the Telkom mobile app as well (Android) - there should be an Apple version one as well.
That's been the quickest/easiest for reporting faults for me.

Yes, the suggestion on the top of the comments was not for the online app but a play store app and if your ISP is Telkom Internet (TI), it's in Telkom's hands anyway. What I normally do is to ensure that I've explored every avenue of the normal diy for the DSL line and if it cannot be fixed chat to an online agent from Telkom and see if they can assist which they normally can with a few setting changes their side or mine. Also make sure you understand how line attenuation and noise margins can affect your DSL connection by reading a few threads here on MyBB. Good luck in getting your problem resolved.

Thanks bro, the info you provided will help for sure.. I guess no fortnite for me tonight

Does your speed vary at different hours? I often have similar speeds on a 10mb line starting around 7pm and only getting back to reasonable speeds late at night.
It’s not every night which adds to the difficulty in diagnosing it.
Telkom have thus far not been able to offer a solution to this.

This happens to me too.. the sad part is that we pay for the service only to get ***! I mean this morning I did a Speedtest and I was running 9.68mbs but last night it was 0,68 or so.. I mean what the hell is this
