Hi, i would just like to know if it is my router or if it is the internet that gives problems. It feel like every 10 min my internet goes off. Sometime when i get to the router the internet light is stil on, other time the internet light is just off but the dsl light is also off then. Then sometimes, but not that often, then the internet light turns red. Most of the time in all the cases when i restart my router all is sorted, but only for 10 min. Youtube is my TV and i try to leave it on most of the time for about 1-2 hours. Got a 4mb uncapped. Sometimes even managed to get 6mb doen, dont know how that is possible, but i like it
 
Forgot to mention. If i leave the thing without restarting it, after about another 10min or so the internet is back on. I thought initialy it was congestion, but this week it was only me on the wifi
 
You'll have to post your router stats for anyone to help. It should include SNR and Attenuation figures. :)

If your dsl light is going off, that means you have line issues.

Post your line stats.
 
Is your router plugged into a POTS/ADSL filter and then into the Telkom wall plug?

If yes, unplug the filter and plug your router cable directly intot he wall plug.

While you are at it, check all your cables - PC to router / router to wall plug. If you have spares, replace them and test.
 
I will try and get the stats in a moment. I do not have filter on the line. I think it is directly connected.
 
Im crap at this, but here is what i got;
Operation mode:adsl2+
Upstream:957kbps
Downstream:6400kbps
SNR margin upstream:5.8db
SNR margin dow:6.0db
Line attenuation up: 26db
Line attenuatiin down:47

I also gave them a call and they said they do not pick up anything. But did day that my line attenuation is high
 
Your line is marginal at 6mb. Drop it to 5 or 4 if Telkom have those profiles available
 
Im at mweb and have the billion n73x. Is it possible to change on the router or must i call them?
 
After the port reset everything is working awesome. The internet is still going, 1gb of download and then bo3 time!!!
