Hi guys,

So with the price cut in the "old" macbook range, i am seriously looking at getting one.

Stock of the 13" is just about impossible to find and the 11" with 128GB SSD is going for R9 999.

Does anyone have any experience on the 11", my feeling is that the screen is too small.

I would be using it for just general usage, social media, working on excel, word and maybe the odd bit of Photoshop work, but not much. I will probably use my iMac for the photography stuff.

Thanks

I had a Macbook Air 11", Core i5, 128gb SSD. It was amazingly powerful and fast. The screen was small, yes, but just big enough. The 13" MBA would be my ideal laptop, but the 11" is still my ideal compact laptop. I loved it.

whats the cost of the 13" 128gb now? it used to be close to the 11", its the one i bought, tried the 11, was just too small

The 13" 128GB is R11 699 now, i was looking at that but stock is just about impossible to find....

The fact that the 11" does not have an SD slot is a bit of a concern for me, that being siad i could just can an SD card converter via USB ?

You can't really ask other people if the screen is too small. To me anything less than 15" is too small. Go try it out for yourself.

I have a USB-to-Multiple converter that I picked up for R40 from Makro years ago. It has worked on every Mac and PC I have ever plugged it into, no drivers required and it will read and write SD, MMC, and half a dozen other kinds of cards.

But I haven't actually used it for a while, because my new printer also came with a number of card slots. So unless you are a real hotshot photographer and you really need to access SD cards every day, I'd say go with the dongle.
