Hi everyone

We've gone through 4 of these 1110 decoders in a year, is the 8118 error a common thing in this model of decoder? Anyone else have this issue?

Two of our decoders are insured so im taking them to be swapped tomorrow, may i ask, do they replace them with the same model?

I hope not as they seem to be rather faulty. Thanks!

Yeah 8118 means a power supply issue. Seen a few people mention this on DStv's forum.

DSD 1100 error 8118

HI
I also got this error and managed to fix it, need to replace a 470uf 16v electrolytic capacitor on the power supply. The capacitor goes faulty and pulls down the 5v feed to the decoder main board. It is located right next to the transformer between the transformer and the wires going to the decoder. Take care to get the polarity right when replacing. also take care not to damage the PC board. UNPLUG from the mains before working on it. Do the repair at your own risk.
My decoder now works like a dream.
