12 steps to cut telecom costs

Communications Deputy Minister Roy Padayachie in July said Icasa should pay attention to the interconnection agreements and conceded that the unbundling of the local loop was central to a competitive environment.

July,August,September. 3 MONTHS have passed and NOTHING has happened. Unbundle the local loop already and quit whining.

Step 1) Shoot Telkom Management
Step 2) Unbundle local loop
Step 3) Shoot Telkom management again
Step 4) Allow competition from AT&T, BT etc
Step 5) Shoot Telkom management one more time

You see how it goes...

I have 1 step with 110% effectiveness, kick telkom in the nuts. Just too bad they keep them hidden somewhere.

I was at one of my customers in their accounts dept not to long ago sorting out some trivial accounting issues, and on the desk was their company phone bill.
It was just shy of nine hundred and fifty thousand rand (R950K) for the month. I almost fainted.
I think MyAdsl should form a company advising 'big business' on how they can save money on telecommunication costs and charge a percentage of the saving over 3 months as a fee (a commission fee like employment agencies for example). Man you will make a fortune, literally, and in the same breath be shafting Telkom.
