I'm considering getting 123NET Satellite Internet as there is no Fibre available in my area. I would like to know what latency I can expect to international servers? Would I get maximum speeds as advertised on average? And would it be good for online gaming?

Do they still exist?

They had massive hype, nothing happened, dead in the water they ended up.

Yeah they still around. They are in Umhlanga.
Try checking bitco site for coverage their 30mbit home package is 1099, excellent to game on. I have basically the same ping as my mates fibre. Took a little back and forth but I have been receiving over and above the quoted speed anytime of the day.

Thanks for the suggestion. What pings do you get to international servers to London or New York?

123NET offers fixed wifi service (not satellite) in many areas in Durban, including Phoenix, Avoca, CBD etc.

Latency to EU game servers depends on the location: typically on fixed wifi it will be 180-185ms to UK.

You can send sign online on the website or email to sales.

Yeah, we do exist and continue to expand. Already covered the whole Umhlanga, La Lucia, Durban North. Now we are rolling in Phoenix. Tens of thousands of homes passed and connected.

The hype that was created when we started was not planned. :)
